Motion Outcome from “SWE Assistance to Unemployed Members” Mega Issue

The professional members of SWE are likely to face periods of unemployment during their working careers.  To assist its unemployed members, SWE shall provide comprehensive career management and professional development services, as well as, networking opportunities and other suitable resources to assist its members as they pursue new employment opportunities.

These services may include, but are not limited to:

§ Extensive web based networking forums, seminars and workshops geared towards the unemployed professional members

§ Use the National Conference as a vehicle for employment and career management services for unemployed professional members

§ Ally with other technical organizations to share career management services

§ Provide financial incentives to unemployed members to insure their participation and attendance at Regional and National Conferences
