Engineers' Week Dinner and Activities
The Colorado Springs engineering community will be celebrating National Engineers' Week at our annual dinner on Friday, February 18, 2005 . The speaker will be Dr. Frank Kreith, P.E. speaking on “Fuel Cell Vehicles: Promise and Reality”. Dr. Kreith is nationally known and his speech should be fascinating!
The “E-Week” dinner will be SWE's February activity and we would like a strong SWE presence! This event is open to spouses and non-members and is a perfect opportunity to introduce your supervisor or co-workers to the vibrant engineering community in Colorado Springs .
A new feature at the dinner this year will be the Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony. For more information, visit: http://www.order-of-the-engineer.org/

November SWE-PPS Report
The PPS-UCCS Joint Meeting in November was enlightening for the professional panel and student members alike. The anecdotes were both entertaining and informative, and dozens of great ideas and a slew of good advice was communicated. Thank you to our UCCS Student Officers lead by President Candice Sonchar for hosting and providing the excellent buffet. Thank you to our panelists Angela Howard, Theresa Henderson, Judy Long, Jennifer Dickhans, Karyn Fishburn, and Christie Ryan for sharing your experiences and often hysterical stories! The panel was terrifically fun, and I couldn't wait to try out some of the tips I'd gleaned from my co-members. Our students were busily taking notes, so it's rewarding to know that our learned expertise in PPS will be carried forward. - Carole Passmore
