SWE Hosts STEM Table at Peterson Air Force Base
The Society of Women Engineers Pikes Peak Section hosted an Alka Seltzer rockets table at Peterson Air Force Base on Saturday, August 29. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. STEM events are designed to get school age youth interested in STEM career fields. The event featured lots of cool hands-on activities for K-8th graders.
The SWE-PPS booth had children make Alka-Seltzer rockets that often went tree-top level and kept the kids excited. “Cool!”, “That was Fun!” and “That was Awesome!” was heard a lot and many of the kids came back for two or three rounds. The little adventurers also got to hear about the Society of Women Engineers and local Pikes Peak Section activities.
